Our

OFFICE VISITS

We offer several types of visits since one size doesn’t fit all. Our greatest concern is that you and your child are seen for the appropriate amount of time to provide the right level of care for their needs. Some of our most common types of visits are listed below.

Well-Child Checkups

We offer lengthy well-child visits (approximately 30 minutes) so that we can have a complete conversation about your child’s health. We want to understand how your child is progressing toward their developmental milestones, and learn about any issues at home or at school that may impact their health.

These appointments allow us to paint a long-term picture of your child’s health, and help prevent any emerging health problems from becoming serious issues in the future. They are also an opportunity to provide preventative care, such as vaccines, and provide a forum for parents to share their concerns.

Sick and Acute Care Visits

Sick / Acute-Care Visits

We reserve a large percentage of our daily schedule for acute-care visits so that your child may be seen quickly. Many times, if you call early in the morning, we will be able to get your child in that day for a sick visit. Sick visits tend to be shorter (approximately 15 minutes) since they are designed to target the primary reason for the visit.

Depending on the diagnosis, we will likely schedule a follow-up visit within a few weeks to ensure that your child is recovering well.

Consultative Visits

If your child has exhibited symptoms for more than 2 weeks, or has a condition that needs to be monitored, we offer consultative visits which are typically scheduled out several weeks in advance, with the appropriate amount of time blocked off so that we can fully discuss their care.

Travel

Travel Visits

Taking a trip and have questions about travel medicine? We can assist you in making your upcoming trips safe and healthy. Before the appointment, we would like to know your rough travel itinerary, including specific areas you intend to visit, the type of visit (rural versus city, homestay with family versus hotels), and any planned activities of note. Once you have this information set, please contact our front desk to book a travel appointment with one of our physicians. Regarding medications prior to your trip, we can write prescriptions for anti-malarial and anti-diarrheal drugs, as well as ensure that your child’s routine vaccines are up-to-date. For less common vaccines such as for typhoid or yellow fever, we will point you to the best resources in the area at which to get them.

Allergy & Asthma Visits

Our team has years of experience treating respiratory conditions such as asthma and those caused by allergies. We will work with you and your child to develop an integrated treatment plan that may involve medication and/or environmental modifications, with the goal being to reduce symptoms, prevent expensive emergency room visits, minimize any potential side effects and generally improve their quality of life.

ADHD visits

ADHD Visits

We require a psychiatrist to diagnose and initiate treatment for ADHD. We can provide a referral to a licensed psychiatrist. Once stabilized on their medication, we will transfer their ADHD care to our office. ADHD visits should occur every 3 months to monitor their status.
